About Genre d'Abattoir

Genre d'Abattoir is a studio whose efforts are concentrated on conceptualizing and developing original ideas intended for cinematographic projects. It specializes in the first steps of the moviemaking process and has for its main focus Ramiro Bélanger's movies. Its fields of interest go from means of visual art to editing, but its principal activities are subject research, scriptwriting, concept art, matte painting, character modeling and computer generated previsualization.

Ramiro Bélanger worked from 1999 to 2006 as a computer graphic artist specialized in character animation. He had the opportunity to work on projects such as Prince of Persia video game, Shark Boy and Lava Girl movie, SIN CITY movie, Racing Stripes movie and 300 movie. In 2006 he decided to move on to filmmaking and created Genre d'Abattoir Studios. He teamed up with literature master Virginie Lavallée from Montreal's Concordia University to help him research and develop original material for movie scripts. Ramiro Bélanger built a small artistic team of the best 2D and 3D artists of Montreal Canada, whom have worked on major Hollywood projects and triple A video games. Together they help Bélanger create his unique vision.
